When Will It Be Safe Again?

Columbia and Saint Charles, MO

Through film I aimed to capture the feeling that COVID-19 has brought about. I captured isolation, as well as togetherness, crisis, as well as solitude, and abandonment, as well as abundance. My goal was to use documentary style photography to capture a difficult time of transition and adaptation in the world right now. I chose to use black and white film because I wanted the viewer to focus on the meaning of the images rather than the places themselves. The entire process of developing the film myself also mirrors the world outside of my series; having patience in a time of stress.

Captured on 35mm and large format 4x5 cameras.
